It's been a while since I last posted an entry. Maybe I'll start again. Or maybe not.

Now, it's really gonna be more about how sad I am rather than posting about the most randon things in the world.

My life recently took a turn for the worse. Nothing's looking up right now for me, in terms of family, friends, career and love life. It feels as though God has finally said that He has seen enough, and that He will put me through some hell before I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I know everyone says that God really does everything for a reason and that we cannot see it now. It eventually will pan out better so they say. But as for now, nothing seems right and I'm losing hope, quickly.

For the umpteenth time, I'm sorry. I still love you, always have, always will. Until I'm grey and old. I will keep holding on until that one fine day, we will find each other again.

And until then, I will still count the days.

quick post

so, one quick post while i'm here in the computer lab in my university.

it has been four days into my new year and i've already made one life changing decision. students at my age should not be allowed to put through stress like this. it does kill. seriously.

i've decided to make a permanent switch from what i'm studying (civil engineering) to the finance side. reason being I DO NOT LIKE MY COURSE. partly blame it on the internship during the summer. not only that, but i picked up a few finance books and it intrigued me much more than engineering.

so currently, the plan is to do my BEng and get a job in a (hopefully a bulge bracket) investment bank and do my CFA while working. basically, the next four years of my life will be put through hell.

oh well. doing all this for job satisfaction and self-realisation.

management class now. and by the way, i'm still trying to drag some of my friends into the finance world. so far three have agreed. woohoo!

Satu McDonald's Please

i still can't find my Isaki Japanese Restaurant photos. the review should have been up a few days ago but my mum is still keeping those photos and she doesn't know where the camera is. OH WELL.

so my maid has gone back to Indonesia for 10 days and now mummy is a housewife. so weird seeing her do the house work. she's a career woman. she shouldn't be doing this. but it's a good change. she needs it.

classes start in two days and now i'm looking back at my summer and how it panned out. it started with a visit to redang with my uni mates. it was a really good trip. but after that, i dumbly accepted an internship offer to Brunsfield Group of Companies and my summer went downhill from there.

THE MOST HORRIBLE JOB ANYONE CAN EVER ASK FOR. COMPANY SUCKS TOO.

don't mind me if i criticise your company. freedom of speech yo.

not long after that, i had a bad patch in futsal as well. omg. worst run of form ever. don't know what happened. things weren't going my way. i had loadsa debts, especially to my father.

but on the bright side, i got the BlackBerry Bold 9700 :). rightly deserved by the way! and now, just when classes are gonna start, tbings seem to look up for me a little. but i still have to work weekends to pay off my debts. oh well. its only for another two and a half months or so :D.

it was not until last year when i tried the very famous Ikea Meatballs that every raves about. i really didn't know what all the hype was about. it's just meatballs after all. frozen food! but oh my, it really wasn't bad at all. also tried the cold prawns with roe. AWESOME STUFF.

these items can be bought in the small mart on the ground floor of Ikea. the sauce of the is the one to die for. not much of the meatballs cos they're pretty mediocre. i highly recommend those tube cream stuff you see in the mart as well. something like "Salmon Roe Cream" or "Prawn Cream Cheese". they go well with crackers. also, they're pretty good when eaten by themselves.

i suddenly crave those tube things. i haven't bought one in ages.

wish me luck in my 3rd year! i'll try to find the photos to the japanese restaurant and try to do the review asap. please be patient with me!

on a random note, "Why the title of this entry?" you might ask. well, you see, i was at McDonald's earlier tonight. i wanted to get two sundae cones. when i was at the cashier, i slipped and said this instead, "Kak, nak satu McDonald's please."

LOL MUCH.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

i was just looking through my pictures and i found this. it was taken when Tan Huey Yi left me for china. LOL.

i love the hand gesture. signs of profanity. tsk tsk.

♥♥♥

HEARTS is my new craze currently and everyone should learn how to play it so that they can entertain me when i'm bored. simple game that requires some thinking. not like "cho dai di" where you can actually simply put your cards down and somehow win. it uses more brain power. lol.

so, i've made a pledge to do my best to revive this half dead blog. as you can see, i'm trying to spice it up by changing my layout. naise?

okay. maybe that wasn't a very good way to "spice it up".

either way, i would appreciate it if you guys support my blog and keep reading. i need to bring back my readership. lol.

i was at Levain's Boulangerie & Patisserie in Imbi. highly recommended for the pastry lovers. lovely environment but only thing lacking is parking spaces. and also a shortage of plug points! if you're gonna have Wifi in a restaurant and only have a like a few plug points, don't bother putting the Wifi there.

but food compensates for that.

cream cheese danish.

fresh mushroom and chicken soup. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

mentaiko bread.
it was a bit hard but take a look at those fish roe. AWESOME. it was like eating sushi bread.

apricot sunrise is a must try. as well as their mango cheese tarts. only problem with the mango cheese tart is that it uses preserved mangoes. pasta's pretty awesome too.

and as i was sitting down having brunch with Amanda at Levain's, she pointed out that all the guys that come here are always with their partners, families or with their colleagues. it seems like a very girly kinda place apparently but i disagree! i would love to come here with my guy friends too.

okay. might be quite gay but what the heck.

environment: fantastic
food quality: pretty good
price: quite reasonable

i would give a three star rating for this place. still have plenty of room for improvement.

look out for my food review on wednesday. i'll be reviewing Isaki Japanese which is just right by my place! lets hope I'll be able to get good pictures with my BlackBerry. i'll be tweeting about it too. so, do follow me on twitter!

How awesome am I?

VERY.

Ask me why.

Everyone: "Why?"

WELL, it's simple really. the story started four months ago at this restaurant. i don't wanna give a bad rep to this restaurant. so let's call this restaurant Cannot-Make-It (CMI). so, Amanda, Aaron and i went to CMI to get lunch. it wasn't my first time there. i always remembered that place for its great service and food as well. i will never forget my first burger there.

love at first bite i say.
mm..
mmm...
yummm...
oohh... mmm...

okay.

so, we entered CMI and to our disappointment, we got the worst service ever, horrible food and didn't go home happy. i mean, what kinda restaurant lets a customer find a seat for themselves, clear the table by themselves and get the menu by themselves too. well, that was another customer, not us. BUT we had a horrible waiter that day who could barely speak a word of English, did not ask for how we wanted our meat done and didn't even know how to serve food properly.

so i thought, "come on CMI. wtf just happened?"

i launched a complain. i was damn 'beh song' obviously. for the amount i paid at CMI, i could've gone to Victoria Station and eat two plates of their finest racks. i expected a lot especially when i had better dining experiences previously. they got back to me, saying sorry and all that. they offered me a meal voucher but i never went to collect it.

until yesterday that is.

Yu Shen and i have this summer pool thing that we do annually. first to 100 racks and loser treats the winner dinner. i lost this summer. couldn't make it 3 summers in a row :(. but a gentlemen's wager is a wager that must be fulfilled. he wanted CMI. and then i remembered, "OH! i have this meal voucher waiting for me there."

i contacted them and they said they have it ready for me. i was expecting something like 50 ringgit voucher or at the very most a 50% discount or something like that. the bill came up to 136 ringgit.

i asked for the manager, Mr. ABC cos obviously i'm getting a meal voucher from them.

and how often do you see a manager of the restaurant come up to you and..
  1. takes the bill away from you
  2. says, "i forgot to inform you sir that the voucher is 150 ringgit."
  3. and goes on to say, "so your bill hasn't reach 150 yet. i suggest you go for desserts. i recommend the tiramisu, chocolate mousse and the creme brulee."
  4. and to top it all off, he finished the conversation with a dashing, "don't worry sir. it's on me."
i'm sorry Mr. ABC. let's hear that again shall we. this time, a little clearer for my readers.

"DON'T WORRY SIR. IT'S ON ME."

best meal i had since the Phillipines. had a free buffet line there but that's another story. the desserts altogether turned up to be about 50 ringgit and that would have definitely been more than the meal voucher. BUT IT WAS ALL FREE.

moral of the story:
voice out your discomfort and disappointment whenever you're a customer of a restaurant, retail outlet or whatever it is. you might just get something good in return as compensation, like how i did.

so that leads us back to the initial question.

How awesome am I?

i'll end it the same way i started my entry.

VERY.
